MANscape by Jon Wassom

MANscape - A Pop-up show featuring the fine art of Jon Wassom. July 22 2016 doors open at 2pm - 8pm

Jon's purpose of this body of work is to empower humanity with a focus on the male form.  Myself as a gay male, I wanted to portray the quiet power of man in a tasteful and sensual way.  With all the tragedy that has happened recently in the LGBTQ community, I wanted to give us a voice, and to say that we will stand no matter what, and to be proud of who we are.  The images of crowds of people symbiotically moving together are a testament to us moving forward.  They also compliment the male in all of its intimacy.  From silhouettes to personal close ups, these pieces were intended to induce an intimate experience with the viewer.

Art Anatomy

In her US Debut, Russian artist Zlata Kolomoyskay's new collection explores the individual's perceptions of the natural vs. man-made worlds and their intersection. Similar to a Rorschach's test, in which the subject is asked to interpret abstract images, viewers are invited to interpret the various patterns throughout the collection. At first glance every shape and pattern may seem surreal, but upon closer inspection they are an exploration of the human body.

Meet artist Tara Sharpe and view her solo exhibition "Sirens and Serpents" in a casual setting.

Radiating a latent violence, Sharpe’s work complicates perceptions of beauty and myth. Layered and saturated colors combine with extraordinary interpretations of shape and scale to form a simultaneously empowering and erotic experience.

Primarily focused on large scale oils, Sharpe’s first show in Arizona also features hand pulled block prints and works on paper.
